SEVEN RAYS AND COLOR
Seven streams of energy of the seven rays qualify our universe. The source of these rays originates beyond our solar system. Our universe is based on the Second Ray of the seven rays, called Love Wisdom. Each ray is a force and can be measured by certain frequencies. Combinations of these rays influence everything in our universe. The mineral, vegetable, animal, and human kingdom is likewise influence by these rays. Our soul is found belonging to one of the seven rays, and our personalities are comprised of combinations of rays that makeup our emotional, physical, and mental bodies.
These seven rays are:
1. Power or Will
3. Active Intelligence
4. Harmony and Beauty
6. Devotion and Idealism
7. Ceremonial Magic
Each ray corresponds to one of the seven colors of the visible spectrum. Normally, colors of the visible spectrum are viewed in the order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. This order is naturally associated with the order of the seven rays. This is not so. There are some correlations, but the colors do not always follow in this order. Since each ray has a particular quality that matches the quality of colors, it is up to the discerning student to study these correlations. The first three rays are of primary importance, and the last four fall rays are considered rays of aspect, falling under the third ray. It is much like the secondary colors, which are mixed from the primary colors.
Indigo is the color of our planetary scheme. From the color Indigo, or Love-wisdom all of manifestation was created. Its influence is felt behind all of the rays, as well as being a color associated with one of the chakras.
In esoteric philosophy, the primary colors are associated with the first three ray of light (red, green, and indigo blue). But the primary colors of our physical world are of pigmented colors that we paint from (red, blue, and yellow).
Pigmented color primaries Physical light primaries

The secondary colors of pigmented color are orange, green, and violet. In much literature about the rays, red has been designated with the first ray, blue with the second ray, and yellow with the third ray. There is much to be contemplated in this relationship. Red is a color of power, but also of reproduction and life forces. It is vitality and necessary for our physical world. Therefore, the color red is usually associated with the first ray. Red is dynamic and associated with the male energy. Blue is watery in nature, feminine, and is associated with emotions and the astral plane. It is the color of the Goddess and the Priestess who is considered to be all loving and wise. Thus, blue is aptly associated with the second ray of Love-Wisdom. The Third Ray is active intelligence, and either green or yellow is associated with the mental plane, consciousness and illumination. Green is a color of balance and harmony in nature, but it is also the mental principle of Active Intelligence behind manifestation in this earthly plane. Thus, a conflict ensures to naming the colors to each ray. When speaking of the personality life, the primary colors of red, blue, and yellow correspond nicely. Philosophically, red, blue, and yellow can be explained.
However, it was in the early nineteen hundreds that the properties of physical radiant light were discovered. The first primary rays were not red, blue, and yellow as first thought. In fact, when breaking up the three rays from a prism, the first three rays were red, indigo-blue, and green! When mixing light together, it was discovered that red and green light made yellow light! What was known about pigmented primary colors was completely false according to these physics. The order of colors from radiant light were red, blue-indigo, green, and the secondary colors are a blend of the following: Yellow (mixed from red and green light), Turquoise or cyan (mixed from indigo and green light), and Violet (mixed from red and blue light).
Ray 1 – Red
Ray 2 – Indigo/blue
Ray 3 – Green
Ray 4 – Yellow
Ray 5 – Orange
Ray 6 – Rose
Ray 7 – Violet
The real answer to color is in their similarity of tone and quality to the ray
